We are a small company in corporate finance looking for a researcher/analyst to gather information on Chinese companies and industries. Most of the research will be conducted using primary sources—phone interviews, site visits, interviews with suppliers and customers, etc. The qualities we are seeking are mainly these:
Intelligence and initiative
Solid educational foundation, with at least a university degree, probably in the humanities.
Sophisticated understanding of the Chinese economic and political system. Interest in government, avid reader. Strong curiosity.
Working ability to read and write English
Desire to work in consulting or finance
